Alan P. Houck , CPA, PFS
Mr. Houck, the founding Member of the Firm, graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics. He completed both a Masters Degree in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting Degree from The Cleveland State University.
In 1972, after teaching mathematics and computer programming in the Cleveland Public Schools, he began his career in Public Accounting at a regional CPA Firm based in Cleveland, Ohio.
In 1974 he and his wife settled in Eugene Oregon, and he has practiced in Eugene, Beaverton and Lake Oswego serving clients both inside and outside of Oregon.
Mr. Houck holds two credentials issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) and member of the Personal Financial Planning Division. He also is licensed in the State of Oregon as an Investment Advisor Representative and holds an Oregon Life Insurance license.
Mr. Houck is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Houck has served in the Eugene/Springfield community as a former member of Kiwanis, as the Treasurer of the Emerald Executive Association (1976-2002), as an officer in the Firland Heights I Homeowners Association, and is actively involved in his local church.
Barbara M. Evarts, CPA
Ms. Evarts graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, in the Fall of 1988.
In 1989, she began her career in Public Accounting at the Eugene office of a large regional CPA Firm, based in Seattle, WA as a member of their tax department. With this special tax training and expertise she has been serving clients in the Eugene area since that time.
Ms. Evarts is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, including the Tax Divison and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Barbara serves the community through her local church and the Eagan Warming Center as well as a participant in the Women's Business Leaders division of the Eugene Chamber of Commerce.
Greg Beisner, CPA, PFS
Mr. Beisner joined the Firm as a partner on July 1, 2015. For 22 years, prior to his joining the Firm, he operated a Certified Public Accounting Firm dba Cornerstone Financial in the State of Oregon, with offices in Eugene and Sweet Home. His goal was "to help business owners enjoy the fruits of their labor and help create more free time to enjoy life". He continues to pursue this goal by helping business owners navigate the complicated tax code and assist them with advice to help them operate more efficiently.
Mr. Beisner received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from National University in California and a Master's Degree in Taxation from Portland State University.
Mr. Beisner holds two credentials issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) and member of the Personal Financial Planning Division.
Mr. Beisner is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants. He also is a member of the Professional Association of Small Business Accountants.
Greg and his wife emphatically LOVE Eugene and the great State of Oregon. If they are not riding the back roads on a motorcycle, they are enjoying a concert in Washburne Park or enjoying the Nordic Film Series at the University of Oregon. They actively encourage everyone to "take a chance" and try something new in our community.
Mr. Beisner also serves as the manager of the Sweet Home Office.
Steven P. Rooke, CFE, CPA
Professional Staff, QuickBooks ProAdvisor
Mr. Rooke has over 20 years of experience in the accounting field in both the private and public sector. After serving in various private sector positions as the inside accountant, Mr. Rooke became a Certified Public Accountant in 1998, when he embarked upon a path in Public Accounting.
His Public Accounting Experience includes individual tax, business tax, selective auditing and financial services for clients.
He earned the designation Certified Fraud Examiner from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners in 2005.
Mr. Rooke also has the distinction of being a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. This distinction sets him apart as a professional who can be of significant benefit and assistance to our clients who have chosen to use the QuickBooks Accounting Software to maintain their accounting records.
Mr. Rooke is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Frederic J. Meier, E.A.
Mr. Meier obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Linfield College, along with a post-graduate certificate in Accounting.
After graduation, Mr. Meier spent over 20 years as a part of a major wood products company in the local area, working his way up the corporate ladder to a position in management.
He then took that experience and his accounting education to serve smaller businesses in the areas of management, accounting and human resources. His experience has proved invaluable in the assistance of small, but growing, companies to anticipate the challenges of the "growth cycle".
In addition to the management experiences gleaned through the private sector, he brings a tax knowledge as an Enrolled Agent, practicing before the Internal Revenue Service for our clients.
Nancy T. Montgomery, Accountant
Mrs. Montgomery has more than 20 years of accounting experience in both private and public accounting. Her experience includes full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll processing, payroll reporting, including quarterly and annual reporting, and preparation of both business and personal income tax returns.
Mrs. Montgomery joined the Firm in January 2015 and serves a variety of clients needs.
Mark A. Houck
Mark, a native of Eugene, Oregon, serves as the Firm Administrator, using his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Seattle Pacific University, which includes a concentration on Information Systems.
Kirk M. Reynolds, J.D., LL.M.
Mr. Reynolds started his professional career in the Legal Profession, after obtaining his Bachelor of Arts Degree (Cum Laude) from the University of Southern California, his Juris Doctor (Magna Cum Laude) from the Willian S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas and his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Washington.
During his tenure as an aspiring attorney, Mr. Reynolds served as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV, as well as serving in the Federal Public Defender’s Office, Habeas Corpus Division, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Upon completion of his studies and becoming a member of the Bar, Mr. Reynolds worked in Law Firms in Nevada and Oregon, ultimately settling in Eugene, where he and his wife set down roots and began the raising of their family.
During Mr. Reynolds time practicing law, he discovered that much of his interest in tax law focused on the accounting aspects of the law and determined to pursue a career in the Accounting Profession. To that end, he completed the required coursework and in June 2015 was awarded a Certificate in Accounting via the University of California Berkeley Extension Program.
In January 2016, Mr. Reynolds joined the Professional Staff and is actively pursuing his CPA certificate.
Mr. Reynolds is a published author of several articles dealing with various areas of Oregon law and is a member of the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants as a CPA Candidate.
